Twitter Hashtag

You can increase the views to your Tweets by appending a smart hashtag. Twitter has been known to reach thousands of people online within a matter of seconds.  Twitter users use this tool to share real time news, announcements, specials and events.  Sometimes it can be a bit of a challenge though to get the right kinds of people to respond or react to your tweet since the content moves rather quickly through the feeds.

There is a way to get extra eye balls on your tweets with hashtags.  I’m not encouraging you to spam people with hashtags. However, I’m encouraging you think through your Twitter campaign carefully and thoughtfully; if you want people to attend online or offline events, check out a new publication, or get people to fill out a survey, you can append a special hashtag to the end of your scheduled tweet.  Your scheduled tweet will then be exposed to people who are tracking that special hashtag, so there is a good chance it will linger on past the timed tweet.

I spend 2 hours per day reading, so there is a reward for consuming so much content.  I read about the latest platforms, tools, and tactics.  One day, I discovered an online tool which I use for free called Hashtracking.com.  Hashtracking.com is a free reporting tool for any Twitter hashtag. It offers a visual analysis of your hashtag over a 24 hour period.  When I entered the word (hashtag) “socialmedia” it provided me a pie chart that demonstrated the

  • number of tweets generated
  • number of impressions
  • number of people reached
  • number of original tweets
  • number of retweets and mentions
  • top 10 Twitter profiles by number of impressions
  • top 10 Twitter profiles by number of tweets

Here is an example of the Hashtag results with “socialmedia” and “smm”
